What Do We Know About Arsenal's Midfield Trialist Sebastian Perez? (video)

Yes, Arsenal have taken another player - Sebastian Perez - on trial, but this time from the sunny South American country called Colombia. This time, however, I’m a bit more inclined to accept this player because he is at an appropriate age. The is 20-year-old and has actually been in the spotlight more than Alharbi El Jadeyaoui - who I wrote an article about here - because of his appearances at the very recent U20 World Cup which took place in Turkey last month. The player was given a chance to showcase his talent, which obviously caught eyes of a few Arsenal scouts. Perez started his trial on Monday of this week and it is due to end in the coming days where a decision will obviously be made. But again, the aim of this article is to provide anyone who reads it with a good understanding of who this player is.

Perez plays his football in his home country of Colombia for a team called Atletico Nacional and is primarily a defensive midfielder. He has, however, been known to play a bit further forward in the more central midfield role, although he mustered just four appearances last season, scoring none and assisting nothing either. But a player in his position isn’t expected to be so influential going forward.

Again, this is a player the fact that he plays where he does mean it is hard to find an expert with a valid opinion on the lad, although what I have been told is that he is ill-disciplined and hard in the tackle. This is just one opinion, and in order to gain a better perspective then I suggest you do some digging. Enjoy the video and don’t forget that you should always be prepared to be proven wrong.
