Who Will Be The Premier League Surprise Package This Season?

A new season approaches fellow football fans, and whilst debate rages on who might win the title this season, let us take a look at what team could upset some odds.

Might it be Everton, with a new manager in Roberto Martinez, who finally make the push into the top four this year? Martinez has brought Arouna Kone along with him from Wigan and if he can, somehow, convince Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini to stay than Everton will be a dangerous team.

Or maybe Liverpool. Will this season snap out of the malaise they have currently been in for the past couple of years? They'll have to keep Luis Suarez if there is any chance of that happening. If they do manage that particular feat, though, than Rodgers has made some pretty decent signings thus far as Liverpool look to get themselves back in the big time.

Can any of the promoted teams extend their stay in the Premier League to more than one season? Will Tottenham stop being losers? Will Stoke finally be relegated to the rugby league? Questions, questions!

As for the team, I think could spring a surprise or two, as if they haven't already, is Southampton. Towards the end of last season the Saints were looking so fluid you could have put them in a car engine and it would have run perfectly.

Superb passing, excellent movement and the quite brilliant Rickie Lambert leading them on. It seems that their manager, the bloke who still can't speak English despite working in the country for many months, has used his knowledge of tika-tika to inspire Southampton on to fantastic performances. And why shouldn't it continue on into this season?

You're right, there is no reason whatsoever why it shouldn't as there have been no major personnel changes and everything is in place for them to aim for a finish in the top half of the table and, whisper it, maybe even top 8.

Anyway, there's my two cents for what it is worth, feel free to disagree and let's have a good ol' healthy debate about it.
