Is Liverpool man worth the baggage? A look at his past (video)

With Arsenal supposedly emptying the bank in an attempt to lure Liverpool's Luis Suarez to the Emirates we ask, is the Uruguayan goal-getter worth the baggage?

The forward has been followed by controversy his entire career. Whilst at Ajax he was involved in an altercation with teammate Albert Luque. He also rocked European football when he bit Otman Bakkal back in 2011. Suarez was banned for seven games and branded the cannibal of Ajax, but all was forgiven.

That was until the World Cup in South Africa back in 2010 when he ripped the heart out of the African population. Ghana took on Uruguayan in the semi-finals of the competition as the entire continent roared for the former. The game finished 1-1 and went to extra time, but as the game headed to penalties Luis Suarez slapped the ball off the line to deny Ghana a last gasp win. Suarez was dismissed but Asamoah Gyan hit the crossbar with the penalty and the South Americans went on to progress while Suarez celebrated in front of the home fans. Villain status regained. Tenfold.

Then came the racism case involving Patrice Evra which saw the frontman get an eight match ban, and most recently the incident involving Branislav Ivanovic's arm, or lack of, which saw Suarez pick up a 10 games suspension.

It would take an extremely talented player to be worth that, you'd think. Well, Suarez is just that. His 190 goals and 69 assists in his 327 games has made him one of the most sought after striker in world football. To answer the original question, in my opinion any side on the planet would be lucky to have Suarez lead their line, even with the problems that he brings.
