Chris Hughton looks to bring the best to Carrow Road

As Norwich continue to be linked to big-name players, what does the upcoming Premier League season have in store for them?

Having just signed powerful Dutch midfielder Leroy Fer, things are looking up for the Canaries.  The 23-year-old was rumoured to be close to completing a move to Everton in January and is the type of player that shows the ambition of the Norfolk club.  Already a full international with the Netherlands, Fer is an exciting prospect for Norwich fans and somebody who they will be hoping can immediately bolster their team.

Another new arrival at Carrow Road is Nathan Redmond who, despite seeming to be around for a while, is only 19 years old.  A stand-out player in an increasingly tough Championship, the youngster was one of the few to come away with any credit from England U21’s disastrous summer.  Redmond did incredibly well to break into the first team at his hometown club Birmingham City, but now he must attempt to establish himself as a regular starter in the Premier League.

Possibly the player who will make the biggest impact for Norwich this upcoming season, however, is Ricky van Wolfswinkel.  Goals win games, and Chris Hughton will be hoping the Dutch striker can provide plenty of them for his side, especially after splashing out around £8.5 million for the 24 year-old’s services.  As the club’s new number nine, the Carrow Road faithful will look for van Wolfswinkel to be even better than his predecessor and previous holder of the shirt, Grant Holt.  Holt leaves the club having helped to guide Norwich from League One to the Premier League, and the expectations on van Wolfswinkel will be even bigger.

The Canaries have finished comfortably in mid-table during their first two seasons back in the big time.  Could their third successive campaign be the time for them to take flight?
