3 reasons why £10m for Carlos Tevez is a bargain

It is seldom that we have gone a Premier League season without Argentina international causing some sort of controversy. From his West Ham days with Javier Mascherano being controversially signed and causing uproar with Sheffield United as they were relegated off the back of a Tevez winner on the last day of the season against Manchester United, to his refusal to come off the bench for Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini in a game with Bayern Munich resulting in a lengthy ban. He also made the switch from United to their blue neighbours which didn't go down well with the Old Trafford faithful.

It was announced this week that the 29-year-old will make a move to Italian champions Juventus for a fee of around £10m, so we take a close look as to why that minimal fee is such a bargain.

    Goals

The obvious one for a centre-forward. Tevez finished last season with 11 goals in 34 league games  (only nine full games) with Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko surpassing that by a single goal. Tevez has had a fine goal scoring record wherever he has been and has followed this with 73 goals in 138 appearances for the Etihad club.

    Creativity

Tevez has always been one with incredible guile. He roams around behind the frontman on ocaasions hunting the defence-splitting pass for his colleague. He made 53 key passes last season and created a further eight assists.

    Work-rate

Possibly the attribute Tevez is mostly recognised for is his tireless efforts that he puts in every single game. His formidable stamina allows him to chase every ball, every player and generally make a nuisance of himself. It is not a common trait found in forwards which is why it is so highly thought of and it often opens up opportunities for his team. A valuable asset.
