Another look at Francesco Totti (video)

In a follow up to yesterday’s blog on the sublime Francesco Totti, today we bring you the Emperor’s chief moments. The former Italian international has just completed his 20th season with the red & yellows and looks set to continue for a good few years yet.

Since scoring his first competitive goal against Foggia in 1994, the local boy has continued to wow spectators at Stadio Olimpico, bagging a club-record 227 official league goals and counting, only second in the Serie A scoring charts to the legendary Silvio Piola (274). The club legend is considered a figurehead of the Eternal City and comparisons can be made to the warriors fighting in the Coliseum during the Roman Empire. Just like the gladiators of that era, Totti fights for and entertains the crowd throughout his career, but unlike most of his forgotten peers, history will not forget his name and his legacy will live on.

Whether it’s his trademark lob, a penetrating drive or a composed penalty, you know it will have class written all over it if Totti is involved. We have all come to love the fiery forward so now is the time to sit back, relax and enjoy this legend’s greatest goals.
