First Bendtner, now Arsenal are ready to let another striker go as fight for Higuain goes on

There is a lot of players that Arsenal fans will not be bothered if they got the boot out of the club. Gervinho is one of them, and the Metro are reporting that this could very well get the case as Marseille have apparently approached the Gunners over a loan move.

The 26-year-old has never really hit the heights that were expected when he arrived in north London in a £10m move from Lille back in 2011 and has become somewhat of a joke at the Emirates, unfortunately for the striker.

The Ivorian did score five goals last season, although in 18 games that return is hardly anything to shout about, nor is his 36% shot accuracy. He created 15 chances last campaign and the Ligue 1 club have seen enough of him to believe that they can transform him into a goalscoring machine.

I can hear the laughter erupt outside the Emirates already. The Arsenal chiefs will be stood in Heathrow with their hands out waiting for the Frenchmen to step off their plane.

With Gervinho on his way and Nicklas Bendtner already revealing that he will be gone within the next week or two, the Reds are left with Lukas Podolski, Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott as their only options up top. But with the former two being linked with moves away from the club will it mean the arrival of Real Madrid frontman Gonzalo Higuain?
