Where Does Robert Lewandowski’s Future Lie? A closer look

So where does it lie? Could the in-form and much sought after Pole be plying his trade in the Premier League next season? Or is Spain or France calling? One place it looks like he won’t be playing is in Germany.

With a move to Bayern Munich blocked by the Borussia Dortmund board and the man himself saying a move away “is the best for all involved” it looks like the Premier League will be the most likely of destinations for him. Both Manchester clubs will be rubbing their hands with prying glee and edging towards  the cheque book. Another team who could be hovering over the cheque book is Chelsea, but with the arrival of Jose Mourinho that will probably mean a certain Uruguayan centre forward in the shape of Edison Cavani, moving to the bridge for a now standard fee to pay if you're Chelsea, £50 million. The red half of Manchester would be, out of the two Manchester clubs, the more likely suitors for Lewandowski, after all they have courted the striker for the past few years. So now with the news of the almost certain deal with Bayern dead in the water, where does this leave Lewandowski himself, Dortmund and the chasers for his signature?

With the only Spanish club who would add to their seemingly never ending thirst for strikers is Real Madrid and with a change of manager and reports of Gonzalo Higuain on his way out the Santiago Bernabeu, a new striker maybe top priority for the incoming Madrid boss. Another club that could rival for his signature and also another club top heavy in the striking department is Paris St Germain, their bottomless pit of riches has brought them success this season and with reports of an inward rift between their star man Zlatan Ibrahimović and the board, that could force their hands. So with the move for Lewandowski taking a new twist there is one man who is probably a lot more pivotal to Lewandowski’s future than he realises, Wayne Rooney, his reported unrest at Man United could pave the way to his move to PSG and then the eventual move The Red Devils may make for Lewandowski. One thing is for sure the revolving door for top rate strikers is one thing that is sure to command the summer headlines leading up to the new season.
