Chelsea to make £28m bid for duo which could force defender out of club

Chelsea could land a major blow on John Terry's career at the club by signing Porto centre-back Eliaquim Mangala for a fee of £20m, according to the Daily Star. The rag also reports that Jose Mourinho is nudging Roman Abramovich to the bank to splash £8m on young Dutch talent Marco van Ginkel. Manchester United will be seething.

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with the aforementioned Mangala but as the rumours have started to dry up the Blues are supposedly ready to pounce as their captain looks to be shifted on. Terry has been the focus for numerous clubs throughout Europe but it is believed that Monaco are in the hot-seat to secure his services, with a deal around £7m being rumoured.

Chelsea already have Gary Cahill and David Luiz occupying the central defensive positions with Branislav Ivanovic also capable of playing in the heart, but with Luiz being linked with a move to Barcelona Mourinho will need to bolster his backline just in case.

Vitesse Arnhem is currently on your screens in Israel for the U21 European Championships, but the 20-year-old is destined for bigger things than his club. A switch is inevitable, but whether or not it will come this summer is something we will have to wait and see.
