Manchester City star issues come and get me plea

Manchester City are starting to make steps to shape their squad for next season's title push, and one man who looks certain to leave the Etihad is Carlos Tevez, who has told The Metro that he would be more than happy with a move to the French topflight.

Tevez has had his problems publicised in detail in the past and has fallen in and out of favour with the club, and with Roberto Mancini getting the sack last week the Argentine may finally get his wish to leave. The 29-year-old has a year left on his contract in Manchester but is seemingly trying to push a move through this summer.

He said: ‘For me, Monaco is one of the largest French clubs, and any player would go there."

‘I have a one-year contract left at City and I am happy, and I love playing in the Premier League – but a project like Monaco I really like.

‘I know [Claudio] Ranieri [Monaco coach] and he has proven he is a great coach so for me this would be great.’

He also expressed his fondness of the Ligue 1 champions.

‘There was interest from PSG for me, and we talked with Leonardo, but we could not reach an agreement,’ he said.

‘But it remains an interesting option as the French championship is moving very fast. If Leonardo called me, it’s not a problem for me to come, really no problem to come to Paris and France.’

Are there any nice golfing resorts in Paris? I assume that is where the interest has stemmed from...

Tevez has 11 goals this season, created 61 chances and has a pass accuracy of 84%, but most importantly has sported some rather nifty facial hair in the current campaign.
