Chelsea reveal £100m summer transfer kitty

Chelsea won the Europa League last night, did you hear? Yes, we can't get away from the fact either. Anyway, gazillionaire Roman Abramovich isn't one to rest on his laurels and will give his new gaffer, who is yet to be appointed, a mouthwatering £100m to go shopping with this summer.

Chelsea are currently reigning Champions League and Europa League champions until Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund battle it out for the status of the former at Wembley, which means we will have to put up with another season of the Blues' dreary 'champions of Europe' chant next year.

Rafa Benitez won't be part of the summer spending spree as he is days away from signing out of his Chelsea career, which despite what some fans might suggest has been a successful spell. They have secured their Champions League spot for next season and have an array of superstars in their roster but the £100m will go towards extra quality in order to lift the Premier League title next season.

That sort of fee could go towards the likes of Edison Cavani, Radamel Falcao, Isco or Wayne Rooney, all of whom have been linked with a move to the Bridge.

Or two Fernando Torres-like signings, as he is now the current holder of the World Cup, the European Championships, the Champions League, the Europa League but is still considered a £50m flop.
