Controversial article regarding Pep Guardiola, by me

I am required to compose something controversial, something different, something even possibly inspiring about the beautiful sport that is football.

However, I thought how do I make myself stand out? How do I come across more controversial than the next aspiring football journalist?

Well, talking about Borussia Dortmund, Malaga or Napoli is completely out of the question, I’d rather be dubbed the new Jon Walters than be branded as a football-hipster.

Sergio Busquets, Sandro, Cavani, Jovetic, Thiago Alacantara, Lavezzi are names that shouldn’t be named.

Other no-go areas include ‘What would Spurs do without Gareth Bale?’ or ‘What makes Suarez, Suarez?’ as nine out of ten pieces you receive will contain something along those lines, as well as; Miguel Michu being buy of the season, Manchester United’s future without Sir Alex, Roberto Martinez’s future as he conducts beautiful football – the list continues.

So, how do I go about this? Do I write a piece about something or someone that I really don’t believe, but feel I must do this to enable me to stand out? For example:

“If Manchester City kept hold of Mario Balotelli in January, I believe they’d have retained their status as champions of England”

This obviously isn’t a true reflection of my views, as no matter what Mancini did with his squad, if it didn’t have Robin van Persie, it wouldn’t get anywhere.

Alternatively, I could pretend I’m nocturnal and I watch/record ESPN in the early hours of the morning to watch South American football, Copa Libertadores in particular but again be labelled hipster. Maybe copy and paste the work of an established sports journalist (FourFourTom for example) and thesaurus every other word to make it my own? Nah, not me.

I nailed it, if I think so outside the box that I eventually come back into the box, I’d write something so ordinary but equally unique because other writers will think outside the box, but then stay there and subsequently write about the above subjects – tongue twister I know.

    So, here is goes:

Will Bayern Munich become even stronger under the reign of Spaniard Pep Guardiola?

    Yes. Of course they will.

Why? Pep Guardiola is one of the most successful managers in recent years; he managed arguably the best club side in the history of football and someone of his stature will only improve a club like Bayern.

Will there be a revamp? Probably, Pep will make Munich his own and has already begun the process by making his first signing in German international Mario Goetze. I’d be very surprised if there weren’t more.

Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski, Liverpool’s Luis Suarez and Napoli’s Edinson Cavani are just a trio of names that have been reported to be on the move to Munich along with Goetze.

But, at this point the transfers, the tactics and Pep’s decision making are for anybody to guess; only Pep knows Pep’s plans.

So there, a short but concise 200 stereotypical piece that’s possibly very similar to many other pieces everybody will read today.
