Monaco to pull off Audatious swoop for big money forward?

If anyone doubted whether Monaco were serious about their aims to become the latest club to buy their way to the top of club football then The Metro's report that they are set to sign the money bags favourite Radamel Falcao would indicate that they very much mean business.

Initially to suggest a newly promoted side to the top flight were set to sign a striker who this season has been as destructive as they come in European football is beyond ridiculous, yet this is no ordinary promoted story for Monaco have more wealth than most promoted clubs put together. Further to that they have in their favour the fact that they do not pay any tax given the rules in the principality, giving them a quite massive and some would say unfair advantage on their rivals. This loop hole means they are able to offer even more ludicrous sums of money than we have seen in the past given the player is guaranteed to take home 100% of these wages.

The rest of France is understandably kicking up a right old stick over this and who can blame them given that PSG's financial clout means they are already fighting a losing battle against one team. If things go on it might not be just French clubs who are bemoaning the situation, with the article in the Metro outlining that Monaco have pipped Chelsea to this signing although many believe that the Blues have actually already given up on their pursuit of the Colombian.

The landscape of French football is changing dramatically and for a newly promoted top flight to spend over 50 million on one player must be amongst the most crazy stories to date; whatever next, Hull snapping up Neymar?
