Alan Pardew seeks a strike force for next season

With a turbulent season to say the least for the Magpies, Alan Pardew has resigned to the fact he needs more options up front if they wish to replicate some of the form which saw Newcastle qualify for the Europa League last season.

With a huge amount of injuries of players and the exit of Demba Ba to Chelsea in January, Pardew has isolated these factors as the reason why they find themselves only recently putting daylight between them and the drop zone. With Loic Remy recently facing relegation to the Championship with QPR and an apparent release clause of less than £10 million, he would be an ideal fit for what Newcastle are after, also, he looked set to join the Toon club but obviously thought QPR would have a stronger end to the season, I think a lot of other people did too.

Another player who could be a potential target might be Andy Carroll, with his loan deal at West Ham appearing to remain just a loan and not materialising into a permanent basis. He appeared to be a fan favourite and said he didn’t even want to leave Newcastle for Liverpool, plus, I don’t think he would fit into Rodger’s regime at Liverpool and I could see him returning to Newcastle, for a cut price, obviously.

I think the summer will see an exodus of leaving players from Newcastle, such as club captain Coloccini becoming disillusioned on Tyne-side and handing in a transfer request earlier this season, another player that could leave is Yohan Cabaye who is constantly linked to European clubs. So maybe Pardew will be replacing his better players from the club and definitely adding bodies as he seems to need a squad as its paper thin at best.
