    Eriksen Premier League bound

It has been confirmed this week by his current club that Danish international Christian Eriksen will move to the Premier League this summer.

Eriksen has been the focal point of Ajax’s recent success in the Dutch league and the attacking midfielder’s influence has him firmly on the radar of many Premier League managers.  Having represented his country at every level, Eriksen is now also one of the first names on the team sheet at International level at the tender age of just 21.

What makes Eriksen such an attractive acquisition is that most of the Premier League big boys are looking for a player exactly like him, a technical player that can link midfield and attack.  Manchester United have been crying out for such a player ever since their long, drawn out pursuit of Wesley Sneijder.  Tottenham Hotspur have still not fully replaced playmakers Rafael van der Vaart and Luka Modric, although January signing Lewis Holtby has shown signs of developing into a top level player.  Across North London, Arsenal could certainly use such a player to lift the creative burden on Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere.

If Ajax are to be believed, Eriksen will begin next season at a Premier League club and although his destination is as yet unknown, he is definitely a player with the ability to light up English football’s top flight.
