Has Tiote hit the end of the road at Newcastle?

The Ivory coast midfielder at one time was the lynchpin of the Newcastle United midfield. His tacking and tenacity were a shining example to those around him and displayed the exact kind of passion the St James’s Park crowd demanded.

This did always leave him prone to picking up an unreasonable amount of yellow cards but this was comfortably swept under the carpet.

Cheick Tiote’s role was to assert his dominance and ensure that the play from midfield would flow very quickly. This aspect of his game he has lost.

When he receives the ball he tends to hesitate and wait for five seconds before picking a decidedly obvious option, which he should've anticipated earlier.

It may be that the lack of competition for places has caused him to come complacent but the Magpies supporters are growing weary of his lacklustre displays.

His constant mis-control and failure to compliment Cabaye as he once did could damage Newcastle United in the long run.

Should Pardew and Ashley just take the money and run in the summer as he could probably be sold for a profit?

This would be for the best for all parties, before things start to turn sour when he is relied upon next campaign again.

Nonsense. Yes he's not had a great season, but no doubt he'll come back to form soon. Not every dip in form results in a "Torres". Even Ryan (did you know he might play a 1000th game tonight?) Giggs has had dips in form over the last 47years or however long he has been playing. Besides, Anita and Bigirimana are hardly ready to fill in for him full time. When he stops getting in the team it's time to sell him, that's how you create staility at a club.

What a load of nonsense stop writing negative stories about players you think could leave without any evidence to back it up its not time to move tiote on,it's time to have a depth in the squad in all areas,I'm sick of negativity about my club, sort yourselves out man, write about stuff you know will happen, anyway howay the lads!!

Stop writing articles to stir the pot and create speculation... Get up off your a** and do some real journalism... Tiote is fine, had an up and down season along with the whole team, and once the season is done, it will be time to relflect and reset

Tiote played very few games last season . And we won all the games when he was absent. This year he has been poor and inconsistent and continues to give the ball away and concede silly free kicks.I was never really sure where his reputation came from over the last two seasons! I am sure it arose after his heroics in the Arsenal game and he has flattered to deceive ever since .Bigi has consistently outperformed him despite being his understudy! what has TIOTE really contributed this term?
