Can Liverpool retain their prized asset?

This is a conundrum usually associated with Arsenal, but Liverpool find themselves in the position of needing to keep hold of a key player amid interest.

It is no secret that there is a rebuilding process going on at Anfield but in the shape of a stellar name such as Luis Suarez they look up to a potent force for the future of the club.

Whilst all appears to have crumbled around him the Uruguayan has held his nerve to be far and away the best player on Merseyside this campaign.

There is the issue of the side needing to gel and support their star man but this issue is one that can be resolved.

A problem that would be far more difficult to find a solution to would be to replace their main source of goals should FSG decide to take the money and run.

Suarez may be a lot of hassle off the pitch which could lead to the temptation to sell but the demise of Liverpool started when Torres was misfiring. If the Reds decide to risk having no emphasis or force upfront once more, then they risk staying in the doldrums for a considerable spell longer.

Rodgers is certain that he wants to keep his star player but as John Henry and co have grown frustrated with their investment wanting a return, this is a test of their mettle.

They may not want to outlay as drastically as they have in the past but selling Suarez could seal Liverpool’s fate away from the Champions League for a long time should they do so this summer.

Because I sick to death of us selling players for cheap ( like kuyt ) Yet getting held to RANSOM because where Liverpool football club...
