Carl Jenkinson: Gooner through and through (Video)

As a schoolboy, Michael Owen's brilliance was so evident that he was scouted and perused by several big clubs including Manchester United and Chelsea.

Owen choose to go with Liverpool, though, as they were the club that he had supported growing up and he was a fan through and through. These days when a footballer chooses where he wants to play whether or not they support the club is usually quite far down on the list but, like Owen, Arsenal's Carl Jenkinson is living out a dream of playing for the team he followed as a child.

And for someone who was playing non-league football only three seasons Jenkinson has done pretty bloody well for himself. The right back burst through the ranks before Arsene Wenger purchased him ahead of 2011/2012 season.

His first season with the club was hampered by a knee injury but he was in the startling line up at the beginning of this season due to first choice right back Bacary Sagna being out with an injury. Jenkinson impressed with solid performances.

He was usurped upon Sagna'a return but the Frenchman is again injured and Jenkinson has returned to the starting XI. Once more Jenkinson has impressed and was arguably Arsenal's best player against Bayern Munich in the second leg of their Champions League tie.

Quick, direct and an improving delivery Jenkinson is an exciting prospect for not only Arsenal but also the national team, too.

Random fact: Jenkinson's father will sing the Champions League song at Wembley ahead of the final this May.

Absolutely love Jenko, the boy bleeds Arsenal. the definition of living the dream. Although I've seen it before the shot of the tile outside the emirates ''hope you're proud Grandad'' made me cry, I for one bet his Grandad is absolutely bursting with pride and swanning around in heaven showing off about his grandson. Good luck to you Jenko, a true Arsenal Legend in the making.
