    Barcelona target Belgian

    Don't shoot the messenger.

I know that whenever rumours or transfer gossip is uploaded on here, the fans of the club concerned throw buckets of abuse (Arsenal fans), but should this rumour come to fruition, it could make arguably the best club team in the world, even better.

It's been reported today by The Daily Mirror that Barcelona are lining up an audacious attempt to lure Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany (Left) to the Nou Camp.

The Sunday paper has reported that Barcelona will offer Manchester City around £20million for their captain, which will most probably get laughed at by the City board.

Money is no object for Manchester City and offering Yaya Toure's wages in place of their influential captain is almost comical. Kompany is currently out injured and City look almost ordinary without him.

As much as Barcelona need a central defender, Vincent Kompany will not leave a club where he is loved so dearly. 34-year-old Carles Puyol is nearing the end of his career and with only ex-Premier league players Alex Song and Javier Mascherano able to fill in, they obviously need cover.

As I said above, these are of course 'rumours'.
