Should Brendan Rodgers go back?

There has been much debate as to how Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has failed to implement his five year plan on Merseyside straight away but are his answers back in South Wales.

The Northern Irishman appears to be looking at several Swansea players as he plans to resurrect his side for a top four push next season.

Michael Laudrup after all his managed to inspire his charges to a Capital One Cup final and sit pretty in the top half of the table.

Rodgers is reported to be looking at Ashley Williams amongst others, maybe he should start realising what job he is in.

Swansea may be achieving well above what their targets were at the beginning of the season, but at Anfield the goal posts are far higher.

Talk of the long term and padding a team out with top half players won’t do they need to be elite. He should have learn’t his lesson by now with his £15 million purchase of Joe Allen.

Brendan Rodgers seemingly got away with missing out on another former Swan in Gylfi Sigurdsson who has hardly set the world alight since moving to White Hart Lane.

Instead of focussing on what went well for him in the past which seems to be a familiar trend at Anfield.

He should focus away from the Swansea style and actually ensure Liverpool have a regular goal threat, as well as ensuring his defenders perform to the high reputations they have every week.

This is where I believe the role of Director of Football comes. Ok, the Yanks are soccer ignorant, so appointed Commolli & KK in charge (both incompetent to respective job), but I believe someone like LVG, Rafa or Lippi as DoF could have helped BR (& the owners) better. I don't think BR is not capable or incompetent to manage a club like LFC, but he needs a supportive big name.

If Swansea are in Europe next Season and Liverpool arent, they will have to pay a lot of money to tempt any of our players, a Big Name only goes so far, big wages could tempt some, but we wouldnt want to keep that sort of player anyway. Liverpool will have a lot of cash from the Suarez sale, as I'm sure the vultures will be circling him during the summer and Liverpool will struggle to keep hold of him if one of the big boys offer Champions League.
I'm confident that if we lose any players to Rodgers, we will get a good price and use that money more effectively as we have done everytime this has happened before.
