A Closer Look At How Yaya Toure Was At The Heart Of Manchester City's Win At West Brom

Manchester City have been tore apart by the nation this season as a result of their inability to win their away games, but last night they eased past West Brom despite two late goals for the Baggies. Manuel Pellegrini's men ran out 3-2 winners at the Hawthorns and there was one man at the heart of the positive performance - Yaya Toure.

The powerful midfielder was again in control of proceedings in the middle of the pitch and was all too happy to take the game by the scruff of the neck and pull the Etihad side to victory.

Throughout the course of the game, Toure completed 64 of his 69 attempted passes, giving him a completion rate of 93%. His technical ability is exceptional and combined with his domineering physique he really is the overall product.

He had two shots on goal, both of which went in, albeit the second from the penalty spot. His first was a remarkable finish, though, as he opened his body and side-footed the ball into the back of the net with ease.

Almost everything that Toure tried last night came off. Although that's something we have grown accustomed to, it doesn't make it any less special when it happens.

He deserves a round of applause in my book.
