Top 5: Premier League's Dirtiest Teams This Season

We had plenty to talk about during weekend 16 in the Premier League, one of which was a controversial red card for Tottenham midfielder Paulinho. It got me thinking, who are the dirtiest team in the English top tier - so I thought that I would have a closer look. Here are the top five in terms of discipline - both yellow and red cards.

    1) Stoke City

The Potters have had a mixed bag this season  but their dirty reputation has not changed under new boss Mark Hughes. They top the discipline table with 36 yellows, but are yet to receive a red.

    2) Swansea

Surprisingly, the Welsh outfit claim the silver medal with 31 yellows and one red care this season, something which they are not commonly known for.

    3) Aston Villa

The Villains started with a bang but have rather fizzled out as the season has progressed and their frustrations have been shown in their discipline. Villa have received 33 yellow cards but no reds.

    4) Tottenham

They may have just sacked manager Andre Villas-Boas, but whoever comes in will have to clean up their act - Spurs have received 30 yellows and one red.

    5) Manchester United

David Moyes has struggled in some parts of the season and his players have struggled to keep their tackles clean. United have been shown 33 yellow cards in their 16 league outings so far.
