FIVE Things We Learned From Manchester United's 3-0 Win At Villa

Manchester United put an end to their slump of form with a 3-0 win over Aston Villa yesterday afternoon. Here are five things we learned from the tie.

      1) Danny Welbeck can lead the line

The England international lead his team to glory at Villa Park as he scored a brace and generally provided a threat throughout the tie.

The United forward had seven shots at goal, three of which were on target and even chipped in with three clearances.

      2) Phil Jones can play in various positions

The chunky enforcer has been playing in centre mid of late and has been impressive in doing so, but he slotted back into centre-back against Villa. During his time on the pitch Jones made 13 clearances, made four interceptions and won all five of his attempted tackles.

      3) Cleverley has something about him

Despite being uninspiring in a lot of his appearances for United, Cleverley had a strong game in the Midlands. As well as coring, the midfielder made three interceptions and completed 94% of his 80 passes.

      4) Villa not afraid to have a pop

The scoreline flattered United somewhat as Villa had the more shots. Paul Lambert's men has 17 shots at goal, six of which were on target, whereas the Red Devils had just 14 with five on target.

      5) Fletcher has a future

After almost a year out of action, Darren Fletcher returned to the Manchester United set up as a substitute. The Scot made 18 passes and had a shot from close range.
