5 Things We Learned From Everton 3-3 Liverpool - Derby Day Analysis

Daniel Sturridge's last gasp goal earned Liverpool a point as they faced up against Merseyside rivals Everton yesterday, so here are five things we learned from the game.

    1) Everton won the passing game

Brendan Rodgers and Roberto Martinez are two managers who strive for their teams to play sexy football, but it was the Spaniard who came out on top this weekend. Everton completed 289 passes (79%) while Liverpool completed 280 (77%).

    2) Lukaku is a real talent

Another two goals for the giant Beligan as he upped his goal tally for the season to seven goals in eight games. Chelsea now surely regret letting him leave as between Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto'o and Demba Bahave scored just three between them all.

    3) The SAS are the real deal

Another two natural goal-getters now as it was another game in which Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge both scored, taking them both to nine this season - the most in the Premier League.

    4)  Liverpool need shooting practise

The Reds had 11 shots at goal, but only five hit the target. Everton mustered 18 attempts, hitting the target with 12.

    5) Derby games are amazing

This game had almost everything. Although it is labelled as the friendly derby off the pitch it was far from that on it, as challenges flew in everywhere. That, along with the passion in the crowd and the goals that were scored, made it an incredible derby.
