Suarez's exploits doesn't mean he should miss out on Player of the Year (Video)

Adrian Durham late last year claimed Tottenham Hotspur are a one man team, as a result of the exploits of Gareth Bale. The Welshman, one has to admit, has been in stunning form of late for the north London side, but if you're looking at teams to heavily rely on one player this year, it's undoubtedly Luis Suarez and Liverpool.

The Uruguayan, never too far from controversy, has been in scintillating form for the Reds this year, netting 15 goals in the Premiership having been forced to shoulder the striking burden following the departure of Dirk Kuyt and Andy Carroll and subsequent injury to Fabio Borini.

While the arrival of Daniel Sturridge will ease the pressure on Suarez, the former Ajax ace remains Liverpool's main attacking threat, as his goal return suggests. However, regardless of his exploits in in and around the 18 yard box, there are some that suggest his controversial antics means he's undeserving of picking up the Player of the Year award later this year.

As far as I'm concerned, a player is awarded the accolade for the footballing capability, not their antics away from the game itself. With that in mind, Suarez deserves to be in with a shout of winning the revered title, such has his performances been for Liverpool this year.
