Peter Crouch: A proper Redknapp signing (Video)

With the transfer deadline quickly approaching, managers and clubs are scampering for that final bargain to bolster their ranks before the business end of the campaign really kicks off. It's no surprise, in that case, to see Queen's Park Rangers make final movements in the window and Harry Redknapp looks to snare that player that will help the club avoid the threat of relelgation.

Christopher Samba and Peter Crouch, of Anzhi Makhachkala and Stoke City respectively, have both been mooted with possible switches to Loftus Road and while the former may be an impossibility, such is the Russian side's financial clout and Champions League participation, the latter is certainly an option for the R's boss.

Crouch has played for numerous teams under Redknapp, most notably at Portsmouth and Tottenham Hotspur. The lanky striker has made an impressive 24 appearances for the Potters this season, albeit, only netting five and assisting a further one.

While Stoke will be loathe to losing one of their prized assets, the right offer will surely convinced Tony Pulis into selling the England international. Having already acquired Loic Remy this month, the chance to bolster the QPR front line will further is surely one that Redknapp can't turn down.

It'll be the fifth time the two have paired up, should a deal be pushed through prior to Thursday's 11pm deadline, but the striker is exactly the player the veteran boss needs to keep the west London side in the upper tier of English football – a Premiership proven front-man that he knows like the back of his hand.
