Play-off punch-up: Leicester City vs Middlesbrough preview

Leicester City host Tony Mowbray and his Middlesbrough side in front of the cameras on Friday evening and with both sides going into the game in the play-off spots on 47 points from 27 games, this is likely to be a cracking game.

You only have to look at the form of both sides to suggest that Leicester start as favourites, after all, 4 straight wins and a draw in their last 5 in all competitions is an impressive feat for any Championship side, and with one of the most in-form players in the country in Chris Wood -all City fans will be in full belief that they can claim all 3 points and start the weekend in 2nd place (and the latest Championship betting backs them up).

A 4-0 thumping away win at Bristol City last Saturday, a 6-1 home killing of Huddersfield and a narrow 1-0 victory against Burnley at Turf Moor in their last 3 league game has shot them up to 3rd spot.

Middlesbrough, however, are having a bit of a wobble considering their fine form throughout the season so far, but despite having lost their last 2 games, 2-1 at home to Watford and 3-1 away at Derby, Boro are still in a respectable 5th place and could also be in the top 2 come the final whistle if they show the sort of displays that the Riverside crowds have been used to this campaign.

The Foxes got the better of the two when they met earlier in the season after coming from behind to seal victory with a 2-1 win thanks to goals from Jamie Vardy and Lloyd Dyer, ruling out a Nicky Baily opener.

Chris Wood will be looking to build on his 5 goals in his 2 league games for the hosts, but Boro will not sit back and play for a draw.
