Young Liver bird showing the rest how it’s done (Video)

It hasn’t been a season for Liverpool fans to shout about so far. The Reds have yet to register a win and are slowly falling behind the rest of the team’s pushing for a place in Europe next year.

However there are two things recently that have given Liverpool hope. Firstly although the memory of the day is still sad, the familie's victims of the 96 that died at Hillsborough on the 15th April 1989, are now getting closer to some answers after recent Government reports found that the Liverpool fans that day weren’t to blame for the tragedy.

The other ray of hope for Liverpool comes from one of the current players. He is just over 5ft tall and still not old enough to go on a night out, instead he is learning to drive. The teen I am on about is Raheem Sterling.

Out of the whole squad this 17 year old has been by far the best player for the club. Sterling is a tricky winger who has unbelievable speed and balance; his step overs are pretty handy too. What makes Sterling so impressive is that for a young player he has fantastic vision. When he is on the ball he is constantly looking up to see which pass he can make. If you think that is impressive for someone of that age then wait until you see how effective his passing is. There have been times so far this season when Sterling has managed to take two or three players out of the game with his amazing passing.

And good players always has a plan b, Sterling has one! If he can’t make a pass then he uses his trickery and wonderful step overs to beat his man to create a chance. If a player gives the youngster a chance on goal then they would feel very foolish as he has a thunderous right foot. Southend’s youth team saw that last season when Sterling scored 5 against them in that game at Anfield.

This season has been Sterling’s breakthrough season as Brendan Rodgers saw potential in the young winger and how it has paid off. Sterling started against Man City in the Premier league and since then he has become a first team regular.

The only worry for Liverpool is if a team with financial backing offer enough cash for Raheem Sterling then he could well leave Anfield. Liverpool need to start picking up points and to show some signs of progress to ensure they keep their best players for as long as possible.
