    Rosicky holds the key

It seems like an awful long time ago that Arsenal signed Tomas Rosicky following his excellent display in Euro 2004.

There was a lot of hype surrounding the Czech Republinc international but his time at Arsenal, like so many others, has unfortunately been hindered by injury, including a thigh muscle injury which kept out of football for nearly two years.

There was a mini renaissance at the end of last season where he helped the Gunners go on a vital winning streak that saw them leapfrog Spurs and take third spot but, again, at the beginning of this campaign, Rosicky was on the sidelines after suffering yet another injury.

It is a real shame about all the injuries the man has suffered because he is a fantastic talent and, as an Arsenal fan, I feel as though I never got to see the best of Rosicky, well at least not for long enough anyway.

Regardless, I think the little Czech maestro could have a key part to play in reigniting Arsenal's limp domestic campaign. Rosicky is able to play as the advanced attacking midfielder (the Cazorla role if you will) and his willingness and determination to carry the ball forward is something that the current Arsenal team need at the moment.

Rosicky's first start of the season came against Olympiakos in a dead rubber Champions League match where he played the opening 45 minutes before being taken off. He was superb, scoring a fine goal, whilst urging his team-mates forward when Arsenal had the ball. That leadership has been lacking during this very poor run of form and Rosicky, as one of the senior players, can be the man to provide it.

In the meantime, I'm keeping everything crossed that he doesn't pick up another injury.
