Falcao: The world’s best striker (Video)

There are flash in the pan strikers that will make the category for the world’s best striker before fading away into mediocrity. Those that will have a prolific season, earning a big money move before falling out of memory and drop back down the divisions to be forgotten.

Then there are those that will make you stand up and applaud, regardless of what team you support. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is one, Edinson Cavani another. But at present, there is one striker that a majority, if not all, football fans can agree to be the world’s finest - Radamel Falcao.

The Atletico Madrid hitman has proven to be one of the club’s greatest acquisitions in their recent history after signing from FC Porto 18 months ago. 55 goals in 65 games since swapping Portugal for Spain and the Colombian Tiger continuously roams the plains of La Liga in the hunt for his prey and following his five goal haul over Deportivo on Sunday night, chances are Falcao is still hungry and hankering for more.

It’s no surprise to see Europe’s big hitters continue to be linked with a move for 26-year-old, regardless of the astronomical fee currently slapped on his forehead. Whether it is January or over the summer that he moves, if Falcao keeps up his current form, Atletico are going to be hard pressed to keep hold of a player, who remains arguably their prized asset.
