Jermaine Jenas: The Forgotten Man (Video)

Over 250 top flight appearances and 21 international caps for England, Jermaine Jenas is a player who, at the peak of his career, would have been a welcome addition to any Premier League team.  At the moment, however, he has returned home to Nottingham, where he hopes to rediscover his best form and help Forest in the Championship.

His playing days have been tormented by injuries and, unable to force his way into the Tottenham team at present, he has returned to the club where it all started for him.  After only one season at City Ground, he was sold to Newcastle United for £5 million in 2002, which was an incredible figure to pay for a teenager at that time.  The Magpies, however, had spotted his talent, with Jenas enjoying a successful first full season at the club and winning the 2002–03 PFA Young Player of the Year award.

Jenas failed to continue his early form for the club during the following two seasons and was eventually sold to Tottenham for £7 million.  It was at White Hart Lane that the midfielder began to fulfil his early signs of promise and his performances earned him a place in Sven-Goran Eriksson’s 2006 World Cup squad.

Having just extended his loan spell at the City Ground until January, it is these types of displays for Spurs that both Jenas and Forest will be hoping he can replicate.

The scary thing is his youtube highlights are better than Willians and we're rumored to be looking to buy him for over 15mil. But spurs really don't need him.

The biggest annoyance with Jenas, was/is his inconsistency. He'd be great one match, and then non-existent in four. For his great engine, he strangely would never track opposition into the box.

shame for Jenas, if he had stayed here he would have been done well trouble is he has a brain of a gold fish
