Is this the end for Swindon's Golden spell?

This could be a dark time to be a Swindon fan as there appears to be more trouble on the horizon.

Jeremy Wray has been replaced as the clubs Chairman with immediate effect following a specific request from the clubs majority shareholder Andrew Black.

Wray was at the club for 4 years, only chairman since 2011 though, a time that has seen the good: Paulo Di Canio's appointment, climbing back into League 1 at the first time of asking and reaching the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and League 1 Playoff Final's. The bad: Town lose on both days out at Wembley.  Lose 60% of their playing staff after the League 1 Playoff Loss, then slipped down to League 2 the following year and Danny Wilson departs... and then *shudder*, the Ugly... The brief appointment of Paul Hart who failed miserably in his meagre attempt to save Swindon from the drop, he was asked to leave after a short 7 weeks.

Wray's time at the Town will be looked back on as a success in the main. It appears as though the squad has real quality again, the club are heading in the right direction and most of all - he brought in a Superstar manager in Paulo Di Canio.

    So what happens now?

Well - the Twittersphere and the world of Facebook has been rattling with worry today as many believe that the next cloud in this darkening sky will be the departure of PDC.

There have already been rife rumours that he is in line for the Bolton job thanks to his great success at STFC. This fire will be stoked up after the departure of the man who gave him the reigns to do whatever he felt fit on the playing side of things.

The transfer embargo that I mentioned last week will also add to speculation that the Town are about to hit the skids. This news was also mooted to aid in Paulo's decision to quit the County Ground.

Paulo Di Canio is an honest man though, he says what he is thinking and he has never shied away from any responsibility. He has publicly stated that he will always honour his contracts and that there is still much work to do at Swindon.

Time will tell, but if you're a Town fan... I'd hold on to your hat.
