When the capital club landed Julio Cesar from Inter in the summer, many believed it was the start of something special at Loftus Road. After all, his prestigious trophy cabinet confirmed him as one of the most established keepers in world football.

However, his fine performances throughout the season has not been enough to keep the club up and the four-year-deal he signed in the summer has very quickly turned into one of the worst decisions of his footballing career.

There is no question that the Brazilian still has enough in his locked to compete in the English topflight, but only if he has a steady backline in front of him.

This is possible the worst piece of journalism, I have ever read. I'd be interested to know how many games the person who wrote this has been to?

Mbia described as "brute force", and "bulk in the middle of the park" when I can't remember the last time he has gone in for a challenge and hasn't ended up rolling around on the floor for two minutes feigning injury. Intelligence is not one of his key strengths either eg. the stupidity of the challenge vs Arsenal. Also, a lanky defender but no one has mentioned his inability to head a ball at all and that was the main reason he was moved forward to holding midfield.

Remy is the anomoly. An absolute joy to watch for the 3/4 months he has been at Loftus Road.

Taarabt being technically gifted but lazy is pretty much known around the world at this time.

Estaban Granero "Big Fish in a little pond" more like "Poodle in a bulldog fight". For all the technical ability people say he has that means nothing if you are being bullied by dogged central midfielders. On the note of technical ability, his set pieces are abysmal. Against Reading he hit the 'outside' of the crossbar, apart from this (which is still not considered on target) his free kicks and corners have been awful. Consistently hitting the first man when we have the likes of Samba and Zamora who are a threat from set pieces. Taarabt and aforementioned would be continuously fighting over the free kicks, it got so bad Agent Jose Bosingwa from Chelsea started to take all set pieces and looked a damn sight better than these two.

Cesar has been hit and miss this season for a large part of the season he was number 1 pulling off some outstanding saves against the likes of Chelsea but regularly failing to claim crosses. One particular situations that stick is him getting injured against Southampton but trying to stay on the field when we have a more than adequate replacement Rob Green, who eventually came on and pulled off saves Cesar wouldn't of got to with his injury. Secondly it seemed whether Rob Green had a blinder or not, which at the end of the season he had a few, he was always getting dropped the next game. Pick a keeper on form, not on how many trophies won. To be honest when there is a defence as poor as this in front of you, the opposition are going to have at least 4/5 chances a game, my Sunday league goalkeeper would pull off the occasional worldie save (Wearing a Chelsea shirt hasn't helped matters).
