    Why: His bullish way of defending has split the opinion of the country. On one side you have those that encourage the return of the robust, powerful defender that this country has become used to seeing in the past and tout him as the next England captain, and the rest of us take no pleasure in the Stoke man's reckless challenges, sneaky fouls or his limitation on the ball.

    Ask Arsenal fans what they think of Ryan Shawcross being the future 'England captain'.
