Top10 - Number 5: Ignazio Abate (AC Milan)

A slightly different approach to this inclusion in the fact that Ignazio Abate is a very different player to any one United currently have on their books.

Abate is a rapid wing-back who uses a treasure box of tricks and his blistering pace to embarrass opponents down the touchline, and although you may be thinking United have the likes of Valencia and Ashley Young to do that job for them, Abate is one hell of a defender.

Not only has he established himself as a cracking player, but the 26-year-old prides himself on his disciplined behaviour at all times. He is an experienced individual with hundreds of games under his belt in the Italian leagues, and although he has played for 7 different clubs throughout his career, he has ended up at the place where he was introduced into professional football; AC Milan.

There is no doubt that Abate would be a good addition to the United set up, but with Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Rafael all able to play in the right-back berth, maybe the gaffer would be better to concentrate on the central areas.
