Tottenham close in on French striker

Andre Villas-Boas looks set to sign his second striker in the space of a week with the addition of Marseille forward Loic Remy.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is reported to have flown to France to ensure a deal for the former Nice man can be completed. Remy has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time, and it appears a move is imminent.

Having finally parted ways with Luka Modric, Villas-Boas will have a hefty budget available to him for the last day and a half of the transfer window, with £15million of the Modric money already being spent on the addition of Moussa Dembele from Fulham.

American Owner is Making Way for Fellow Countryman

Liverpool owner John Henry has expressed a willingness to cash in on midfield duo Jay Spearing and Charlie Adam.

This is so that he can conjure enough financial might to make a realistic bid for Fulham favourite Clint Dempsey.

Dempsey made headlines last season by scoring 23 goals in 45 matches.

Jay Spearing has yet to make his mark for Liverpool yet playing only 16 games making only 1 assist in the process.

Charlie Adam, the more high profile player to be on his way out played far more than Spearing last season but only 2 goals last season might explain why he is out of favour at Liverpool.

Dempsey has been a Liverpool target all summer and his unwillingness to play for Fulham last week emphasises his passion for a move.

    Arsenal poised to lose Walcott

With days to go until the transfer window's close, Arsenal's Theo Walcott looks set to be one of the more high profile moves after the England forward rejeted the Gunners' offer of a new contract.

Walcott, who's present deal expires next summer, has been in discussions with Arsene Wenger ever since the departure of Robin Van Persie to Manchester United was confirmed. His refusal to sign a new deal however gives Arsenal the familiar dilemma of either cashing in before the transfer window closes or risk losing one of their primary assets for nothing in a year's time.

Chelsea had made enquiries last summer on Walcott's availability but with their summer signings, a move to either boyhood club Liverpool or champions Manchester City, who's moves for Scott Sinclair have stalled, is a more likely scenario.
