Tottenham close in on French striker

Andre Villas-Boas looks set to sign his second striker in the space of a week with the addition of Marseille forward Loic Remy.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is reported to have flown to France to ensure a deal for the former Nice man can be completed. Remy has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time, and it appears a move is imminent.

Having finally parted ways with Luka Modric, Villas-Boas will have a hefty budget available to him for the last day and a half of the transfer window, with £15million of the Modric money already being spent on the addition of Moussa Dembele from Fulham.
