Chelsea alerted to defender availability

Chelsea have been alerted to the possible news that Real Madrid defender Fabio Coentrao is keen to leave the Spanish capital.

The 24-year-old only moved to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu last summer and has made 33 appearances in all competitions.

However, the Portugal international has failed to settle in Spain, with Chelsea ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign the former Benfica ace.
