    Spurs close in on Lloris

Tottenham Hotspur may have made a breakthrough in their attempts to sign a new goalkeeper after making a formal approach for Lyon's Hugo Lloris.

Despite the French club remaining adamant they do not want to sell, president Jean Michel-Aulas has admitted the future of the France's number 1 'keeper is not in the hands of the club.

Andre Villas-Boas has a new goalkeeper on his shopping list to replace the aging Brad Friedel and 25 year old Lloris has been linked with a move to White Hart Lane throughout the summer, now Spurs have made their reported interest concrete.
