Clarke keen to hold onto Olsson

West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke has spoken of his optimism that centre-half Jonas Olsson will remain at the Midlands club.

Olsson, 29, has one year remaining on his deal at the Hawthornes and although he has not yet signed a new deal, Clarke is hoping that will be sorted out in the near future.

West Ham have been linked with the Swedish defender in the past but Clarke said that there was nothing to indicate Olsson will depart the Baggies before the transfer window is closed.
