Agger wants to stay at Liverpool

Liverpool will have been boosted by defender Daniel Agger's fresh commitment to the club amid speculation linking him with a big-money move to Barcelona or Manchester City.

Centre-half Agger, 27, has said he is happy at Anfield but admits his future is out of his hands after Manchester City were rumoured to be planning a bid in excess of £20 million for the Danish international.

When asked about his future, "I would prefer to stay" announced Agger, but he went on to say "you never know if the club prefers to sell".
