Barca opens with a £30m bid for Fabregas

Barcelona chief Pep Guardiola will launch a £30million bid for Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.

Guardiola is determined to ensure his “untouchables” keep improving with a bid for the former Catalan trainee Fabregas and Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi.

The Mirror suggests Pep has called upon sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta and President Sandro Rosell to go all out to sign the 23-year old midfielder.

But Barca appears reluctant to increase their bid to anywhere near Arsenal’s asking price of £50million and may have to fight of interest from mega-rich Manchester City.

£50m wouldn’t touch the barrel off City’s deep pockets, but despite the lucrative pay packet City could offer its unlikely Fabregas will move to another Premiership club.

Barcelona captain Carles Puyol is convinced Fabregas will be playing at the Nou Camp next year he added “I am convinced that Cesc will soon be playing with us.”
