English clubs chase Spanish midfielder

Sampdoria's Spanish midfielder Pedro Obiang, is attracting the interest of several English clubs, according to Sky Sports, but his agent insists that he is happy in Genoa.
The 20-year-old has reportedly been attracting interest from the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham, while Napoli are also thought to have registered an interest, the possibility of which his agent subsequently quashed.
Despite playing down talk of move across Italy, Jose Miguel Gonzalez did acknowledge that there existed interest from English clubs for the player, who is under contract with Sampdoria until the summer of 2017.
He told media sources in Italy:
"There are only rumors about him. There was nothing with Napoli, we have not had any meetings and, as far as I know, Sampdoria have not received any concrete offers from any club."
"I know that many teams, including English ones, are interested in the player but he is very good in Genoa and he's happy. We have extended the contract for another season and now he has a four-year contract with Sampdoria. We'll see what happens in the summer."
Obiang began his career in the youth team of Atletico Madrid before moving to Sampdoria in 2008, he has one cap for the Spanish under 21 side.
