Colombian midfielder makes himself a target

Currently testing himself in Serie A, Juan Fernando Quintero has wasted no time in impressing scouts from across Europe.

According to Sky Sports, the Pescara midfielder could be on the move in the summer, with some impressive performances for the Italian side displaying his real quality.  Manchester United are believed to be admirers of the Colombian, who only turned 20-years-of-age a few weeks ago.

Quintero began his career in his homeland with Envigado, before moving on to Colombian giants Atletico Nacional in 2011.  He also recently represented his country at the 2013 South American Youth Championship, incredibly scoring five goals in just nine appearances as Colombia won the title for the third time in their history.  Just missing out on being the top scorer, he was named the best player of the tournament after also contributing four assists.

Notable aspects of Quintero’s game are his ball control as dribbling, whilst some accurate free kicks have also attracted attention.  His creativity was crucial in helping his nation win the recent youth championship in Argentina, which also enabled them to qualify for the 2013 Under-20 World Cup.

With Quintero quickly making a name for himself, the playmaker’s agent believes it is only a matter of time before his client is snapped up by a top European side.
