Wanted man wants to stay where he is

Hearing that Francisco Roman Alarcon Suarez is happy in Southern Spain may not mean much to most people.  However, change that to Isco enjoying his football at Malaga and it’s a completely different story.

According to Sky Sports, the attacking midfielder’s impressive performances have attracted interest from across Europe, including reigning Spanish champions Real Madrid as well as clubs from the Premier League.  Malaga qualified for the Champions League in his debut season for the club but it was also a notable campaign for him personally, as he was named La Liga Breakthrough Player of the Year ahead of Real Betis’ Benat Etxebarria and Isaac Cuenca of Barcelona.  More notably, perhaps, was his Golden Boy, an award that is given by sports journalists to the most outstanding young player from Europe during a season.  Not to be taken lightly, Isco’s name can now be seen alongside the likes of Wayne Rooney, Lionel Messi and compatriot Cesc Fabregas as previous winners of the award.

The player himself saying he is committed to the club and wants to stay will be a huge boost for Malaga.  Having made his debut for Spain this month at just 20 years of age, Isco is one of the brightest prospects in Europe and has the potential to be a real star of the future.
