      Coloccini could just... walk out

Fabricio Coloccini, the man immune to the power of the contract. Well not really, but he certainly seems to think so. He has reiterated his desire to return to Argentina for 'personal reasons' on several occasions, and initially, it seemed he would complete a move to Argentinian side San Lorenzo. Unfortunately, the combination of his £60k a week salary and Newcastle not particularly wanting to make a massive loss on the captain they bought for £10.3 million, have seen any possible deal fall through.

Coloccini could just agree to take a pay cut, but that would be absurd, now wouldn't it. I mean, how can a man possibly survive on less than £60k a week? Regardless, his pay cut wouldn't really solve the issue of a transfer fee, so I suppose it's irrelevant. However, there still remains the point of the Argentinian's 'personal issues' which are obviously serious enough to force him to want to quit an excellent career in the Premier League. It is understood that he has informed officials that he will 'not play another game for the club', The Independent says.

As much as Coloccini wants to simply pack up and go home, that's not strictly legal. Ok, it's not legal at all. And seeing as Newcastle are not going to just throw £10.3 million away, they have presented Coloccini with the opportunity to buy out his own contract... for £7 million.

Maybe he'll just pull a Carlos Tevez and leave. I mean, Tevez certainly got away with it, so why not Coloccini?
