United to battle Madrid for youngster

Manchester United and prepared to battle it out with Real Madrid for the signing of prodigious Dynamo Zagreb midfielder Alen Halilovic. The 16-year-old, who has been likened to Luka Modric, is a top target for the Continental giants, according to the Daily Mirror, with the duo keen to snap him up in January.

Real may’ve secured the signing of Modric over the summer, but are eager to bring the youngster on as they look to prepare for the future. However United, having missed out to Los Blancos for the former Spurs midfielder, will provide serious competition for the La Liga outfit.

A number of Europe’s top clubs had shown an interest in Halilovic, but it appears as though United and Real are the leading contenders for his signature.
