Moyes enjoys transfer speculation: Owen to Everton?

Over the last few years you were more likely to see Everton’s name in Deirdre’s problem page than in the transfer rumours section, mainly because of their tight fisted chairman Bill Kenwright, but also because the face of Phil Neville is just too gruesome to tolerate for potential signings.

Every transfer window seems to be a struggle for Moyes, often scraping the barrel to see which freebies he can try to persuade to play alongside the likes of Victor Anichebe, whose pre-match meal is said to consist of 3 bowls of pasta, 2 chicken breasts and a baby elephant.

However, Moyes put his size-6 foot down this summer, and the Toffees have sweetened their squad with Bryan Oviedo, Kevin Mirallas and Steven Naismith, but the gaffer has delivered a gob-stopper this week, announcing he is considering offering a contract to Owen Hargreaves who has been without a club since being released by Manchester City in June. No, really!

Think of that devastating time when you pulled a coffee flavoured chocolate out of your bag of Revels, and that is close to how the Everton fans are feeling at this moment in time.
