Three (or should that be Free) defenders in at West Ham?

Sam Allardyce would say he's had a productive summer of transfer business at West Ham. For one, he successfully picked up almost anyone over 6ft tall and on top of that, he secured top target Andy Carroll to ensure that even if West Ham go down, if they can secure six points against Arsenal then it'll all be worth it for Big Sam.
However, despite the closure of the transfer window, the Mirror reports that Allardyce is looking to strengthen his backline and is eyeing up the out of contract trio of Anthony Vanden Borre, John Mensah and Mikael Silvestre. All have previous Premiership experience although those Portsmouth and Arsenal fans who saw Vanden Borre and Silvestre turn out for those clubs are probably on the floor rolling in laughter as they read this.
However, Allardyce needs all the help he can get, particularly when his defence is currently being held together by James Collins!
