Klose, but no cigar - Spurs fail to capture German

If reports are to be believed (probably not), veteran striker Miroslav Klose snubbed a summer move to Tottenham Hotspur in order to see out his contract at Serie A side Lazio, much to the disappointment of Andre Villas-Boas.

Spurs’ lack of attacking options had been well documented over the course of the close-season, and the north-London outfit have been linked with almost every striker in Europe.

With only Jermain Defoe the real option up front, AVB frantically tried to beg, borrow or steal a striker from anywhere he could, but just like his barber, he didn't have huge success.

They reportedly missed out on Brazilian hot-shot Leandro Damiao, Newcastle target-man Demba Ba, Spanish giant Fernando Llorente and Italian international Giussepe Rossi.

Does anyone else feel sorry for him? Nope, Me neither.

As AVB began to search for the mobile number of Emile Heskey’s agent, Daniel Levy surprised him with an early Christmas present; a gift wrapped forward in the shape of Emmanuel Adebayor.

However, the ungrateful brat demanded more and tried to force through a deal to land Klose, but the German wasn’t interested.

Come on Spurs, being rejected by a 34 year old that has a goal ratio of 1 goal every 2.5 games isn’t that embarrassing.

      *snigger*
